Black Lodge
Black Lodge is an all-ages DIY venue at 429 Eastlake Ave E, run by The Vera Project. The space hosted shows from 2008 until it closed during the 2020 pandemic; The Vera Project restored it, combining the room with the adjoining former Lo-Fi cafe, rewiring it, and installing a donated sound system, and reopened it in October 2023. It holds about 150 people.
Like the rest of The Vera Project, it is volunteer-run and drug- and alcohol-free, which lets it book the harder and more experimental end of the calendar: punk, hardcore, noise, and electronic and synth performance. Electric Blue, the venue’s Monday synth night now promoted as Modular Mondays, brings synth sets and modular rigs to the room. The all-ages model sets it apart from Seattle’s 21+ bar-only synth nights.
